Tight and square, light toning in the front endpaper and faintly in the edges, faint store stamp in front endpaper, toning band and some rust spots in rear endpaper, clean pages, no names or inscriptions. The dust jacket is price clipped, faint toning on front flap, slight wear to spine ends, unfaded, protected in a removable clear film sleeve.

London: Bodley Head, 1987 The author's second novel. Red fine-textured boards stamped in gilt on spine. Tight and tidy, just the faintest show of foxing in endpapers. Fully intact dust jacket, slight foxing on flaps, protected in a fitted clear film sleeve. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall

London: Sidgwick & Jackson (1956). Unmarked apart from lightly toned edges. The dust jacket is bright and unclipped, tiny tears at spine ends, slight wear to corners, in a clear protective sleeve. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

London: Robert Hale, 1961 The very scarce first edition. Probable ex-library copy but only has a small code# on the front free endpaper, tape stains in the endpapers from securing a protective cover, the rear free endpaper has a small corner torn away, some light foxing, a pen mark on one text page, tape stains on the boards. The dust jacket is bright and not price clipped but each flap corner has been slightly trimmed, each flap end has a tape stain, light rust stain, chipped at crown of spine, in a clear film protective sleeve.

London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1952 The scarcest of all Cadell titles. Red cloth titled in black on spine. Tight and square, only slightest of wear to boards, name in front, light foxing in edges and endpapers and prelims.

London: Self published, 1919 Printed for the author by Hazell, Watson and Viney, London and Aylesbury and sold by Sifton, Praed & Co. A very good copy in olive cloth binding with gilt titling, monochrome frontis and portrait of author with tissue guards, many b&w illstns, fold-out diagrammatic sketch of Easter Island. Tight and square bindings, only slight wear to boards, toned endpapers, a faint name in front, one set of illstns appears to have been excised.

Melbourne: Heinemann, 1953 Beige cloth with titles in gilt on spine. SIGNED IN BLUE INK BY NEVIL SHUTE NORWAY ON THE TITLE PAGE. The author visited Wellington in 1954 when this title was the latest available for signing. Tight, very slightly tilted, light toning in endpapers, clean pages. The dust jacket is bright, price clipped, rubbed at spine and corners with slight loss, tiny tears at spine ends, protected in a removable clear film sleeve.

Australia: Bloomsbury, 1999 Philospher's Stone is second printing, Chamber of Secrets is second printing, Prisoner of Azkaban is fifth printing. The books themselves are fine and appear unread, except that the dj of Philosopher's Stone is rubbed at one bottom corner. The slip case has a small chip at the rear corner.

London: Cassell, 1932 The very scarce first edition in blue cloth binding with yellow titles to the spine. Clean boards, slightly tilted, foxing in the edges and light foxing in the endpapers and prelim pages.

London: Weidenfeld & Nicolson, 1959 Translated by R. H. Stevens in collaboration with David Woodward, first published in Germany in 1958. Black cloth titled in silver on spine, b&w illstns. SIGNED BY DOENITZ ON A SPECIALLY MOUNTED BOOK PLATE ON THE HALF-TITLE PAGE. Tight and square, a presentation plate to a museum on the front paste-down, otherwise unmarked. The dust jacket is price clipped, minor edge wear, corner tear, unfaded, protected in a removable clear film sleeve. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall

London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1929 A near fine first edition copy in similar standard dust jacket. Blue cloth binding titled in black. Slightly tilted, light foxing in the edges and at the top of the title page, 2 small pen notations on the front free endpaper. The dust jacket is fully intact and bright, tiny tear to each spine end, light foxing on the underside, in a clear film protective sleeve.

Chicago & Boston: Geo. L. Schuman, 1910 Part- morocco with marbled boards, gilt titling and decoration to spines, gilt top edges, decorated endpapers, colour frontis, b&w illstns. In near fine unmarked condition, one volume has slight wear to the crown of the spine. A beautiful set but heavy which will require additional shipping.

London: Jonathan Cape, 1962 A very good copy of the fourth impression. Clean boards, tight bindings, foxed edges, lightly foxed endpapers. The dust jacket is price unclipped and bright, slight wear to spine ends, a touch of foxing to rear panel, in a clear film protective sleeve.
